Lost

It seems to be a running theme lately on Facebook and in blogs I read.

People seem to have lost much of their motivation.  I know I have.  As you can see by these photos. My house is a sad reflection of my current state of apathy.  And I haven't quite figured out what it will take for me to get back in the swing of things.  I mean, really.  Soda cans/cups on the half wall?  a SAW on the floor of my entry??  Not to mention a disaster of a family room, living room, bedrooms, kitchen...  Have I forgotten anything???

Ah, the lovely office.  I have cleaned this bad boy more times than I care to count.  All it takes if for John to bring home some junk from a show or project or something, and it looks like this all over again.  And I just can't seem to find the drive to start over again.

The truly sad part is that I KNOW that if I would just get busy and take care of things, I'd feel so much better!!!  Plus, it would go a long way on helping me to find that contentment and satisfaction I'm trying so hard to bring into my life...

Sometimes that disconnect between what we know and what we do is a really wide divide to cross.

On the plus side, I have read a few really good books lately. I'm sure that has nothing to do with this post...  or does it??

What you are looking at, my friend, has nothing to do with lack of apathy, because really.. how many times can you pick up the same area over and over again before it just feels every minute of the day is deja vu??

It's the picture of real life.

no for reals. That's what I tell myself to get me going after letting it go for a just a teeny bit.

You're just normal, like the rest of us. We all have silly clutter that could easily be picked up, but no effort is put in to do it. I'd rather someone else take care of it, frankly :)

I really am enjoying having a list of achievable goals that are mostly reachable but some are more trying/effort than others. It's keeping me motivated, just not my house clean.

Karen, I started reading, saw your first picture and I thought, "how pretty" then i finished reading about the soda cans and had to go back to the pic. I had to laugh at myself, I didn't notice them. What does that say about me?
