so this is just a quick one today. it seems like lately every time i go to get on the computer i have a darling little 5 year old that suddenly needs the computer urgently (or me urgently) so i can't read or write blog posts. {in fact, she is hanging on my shoulder right now...}
some recent events:
we painted the kids' rooms. they are both a lovely gray color. i look forward to the day that i can buy beds, new mattresses, dressers, and closet organizers. i have hesitated to put anything on the walls until i know exactly how things are going to come together. so for now my poor kids are sleeping on mattresses on the floor.
we reclaimed our downstairs family room. we inherited john's parent's old "big screen" tv, so we put that down there - it will mainly be the kid tv for xbox and movies - we will be putting our nicer tv in our bedroom so that it stays nicer longer...
thanksgiving was wonderful, we had dinner with the lamunyon's this year, and it was delish! the next day i took the kids and saw tangled with the lamunyon crowd. what a cute show! we loved maximus and pascal the most.
the christmas decorations are up - at least downstairs. the kids decorated the tree, and all of my colorful holiday items are down there. upstairs is going to be a very neutral cream/brown/silver/white palate. which might not be the best idea, since i have very few decorations those colors and no budget to buy some. time to get creative!
we had sooo much snow to shovel this morning! and it was up to bryson and me to shovel it. john cracked/broke a rib a few weeks ago and finally got it looked at yesterday. so i really wanted him to take it easy and not strain it more. it would be really nice to have a whole and healed husband soon. not to mention a husband who is not so completely stressed out and pressured.
draw collar news is very exciting! we are gearing up for some major canada business, and an opportunity with a couple of huge companies. so we're very optimistic about the near future. but john is very very very stressed. but, thankfully, the lord is completely in control of this one, and i know that the answers will come to him as they are needed. and in the meantime, i will just try to minimize the demands at home. {although, max may be a challenge to distract...}
the boutique went really well. i had so much support from my friends in the ward. it brought my sister to tears to see how much i am loved. and i am so grateful.
i have totally avoided my camera. i keep meaning to take it out and get pictures, but somehow, just can't be bothered. i did take pics of the walls in the kids' rooms before i painted, and will take some "after" shots, but i've been waiting to get some decorating done. so, sometime next year, you will see those pictures. lol. but i will try to be better.
i have not done one bit of shopping yet. nothing like waiting to the last minute! hopefully i will be able to find most of what i want to get...
this ended up being way longer than i thought it'd be. sophie has given up and went to play a game on the ds.
but it's time for me to get busy doing a few other things... like laundry, cleaning, and such. now that the kids are back in school, i can do that and have it stay done for more than 15 minutes.
