Bear Lake Fun ?!

So, we left Salt Lake on Thursday the 24th to go up to Bear Lake. We go every year with my mom's family and camp at one of the group sites. It is a really fun tradition that we look forward to. This year was great, and horrible. Great during the day, horrible after midnight.

It hailed briefly on Day One right when we got to the beach...

During the day we go down to the beach - set up a spot - and just let the kids go. They can go out really far and it's shallow forever - which is nice because we have so many little ones up there. We take lunch and just hang out and play.

Tammie brought the wave runners and the big inflatable trampoline thing to play on, and we all just had a blast. The second day we were there, Rob and Sherrie showed up. Rob actually played with the guys on the tramp and Sherrie went on the wave runners (with MY mom!). We all thought we'd stepped into an alternate dimension. It was fun to see them all relaxed and enjoying themselves.

Sophie loved the wave runner - did not want to get off...

John and Bryson clowning around.

(this is sophie and max completely worn out!)

Nights sucked! Sophie was a BRAT!!!!! I think combined for both nights, we got a total of 6-7 hours good sleep. She knew we couldn't let her just cry, because we were in the tents, and so we had to take her out to the car to avoid waking the whole camp... SORRY everyone!!! Night one, she did wake up everyone. Night two, we got her to the car in time to avoid the major screaming fit... Anyway - she was great during the day, not too cranky, played alot. But, MAN!!! Camping with an almost 3 year old. Not fun. (on a side note, she knew she had been bad, because Sunday morning when we got up around 7:30, she yelled from her bed, "Mom! It's not late!" She was proud of herself for not waking up when it was still dark)

Anyway, it was overall a really fun trip, and I do enjoy the tradition of going up there - I'm just glad that next year Sophie will be 1 year older. It's worth the sunburns and sleepless nights just to make those fun memories and seeing the smiles on the kids' faces when they are just having a blast.

I am so glad you got a picture of the guys throwing the kids on the tramp. I missed that one with my camera. Did you get one of the guys playing "keep away" on the tramp? I missed that one as well. Great pictures. It was fun, but nice to be home.
